Please note: the role is based in Sydney and applications are open to candidates across Australia however if you are based interstate there is an expectation of a semi-frequent presence in the Sydney office.
It's a Series B-funded B2C startup with big backers and is actually on the path to becoming Australia's next unicorn. They currently have three products, one of which has 550,000 paid users and they want to grow that into millions. The company is making a difference in society through their products and it is all geared toward financial literacy and money management, especially for the younger generation.
This is a newly-created senior leadership position as the company wants to significantly ramp up its marketing agenda, continue to increase its presence, build a bigger brand and acquire more users – and this is where the CMO/Head of Marketing role comes in.
The role will be the top marketing/growth role and will be part of the senior leadership team. You’ll be responsible for designing, building and leading the marketing strategy and creating customer advocacy – taking ownership of the function across acquisition, brand, creative, content and PR – this includes transitioning a performance marketing-reliant strategy into an integrated channel approach with a focus on brand.
You’ll also be responsible for leading, growing, coaching and scaling the team (currently around 8-10) and continue to build the culture there.
You are a high-performing CMO/Marketing Director/VP Marketing (or Head of Marketing ready to step into a CMO role) with proven results in growing and scaling marketing functions in scale-up tech environments. Coming from a B2C environment is a preference but not necessary.
You are a strong people leader, a visionary, a communicator and you're a storyteller, able to build brand presence and still take on a scientific approach to marketing and be deep in the numbers.
